Estimate your electricity cost
How the estimate works
We multiply watts by hours per day and days per month, then divide by 1,000 to get monthly kilowatt-hours. We multiply that by your dollar rate to estimate the energy charge. Annual amounts assume the same monthly use for 12 months.
For example, 1,500 W used for one hour on 30 days uses 45 kWh. At $0.173 per kWh, that adds about $7.79 in energy charges for the month.
What your result does—and doesn’t—include
This is an estimate for the appliance, not your whole bill. It doesn’t add fixed fees, taxes, demand charges, standby consumption outside the hours you entered, or changes in your rate. A refrigerator, heater, or air conditioner may draw different power as it cycles.
