Roof Replacement Cost Calculator

Build a planning range from your roof area and the installed prices you’re comparing. You can adjust the numbers as you collect quotes.

Estimate your project range

Use the measured roof surface, including slopes and overhangs—not your home’s floor area.

Include an additional cost only if it isn’t already in your installed prices.

How the estimate works

We multiply the measured roof area by each installed price, then add any additional costs you enter to both totals. For example, 2,000 square feet at $5–$9 per square foot gives a starting range of $10,000–$18,000 before additional costs. These numbers are only a calculation example, not current local prices.

What can change the final price?

Roof shape, access, material choice, removal, permits, flashing, ventilation, and damaged decking can affect the scope. A price per square foot may cover some of these items already; ask each contractor what is included so you don’t count them twice.

This tool doesn’t inspect your roof or supply a contractor quote. Use its range to organize your budget, then compare written estimates for the same work.
